Very good dog training. The dogs have progressed quite far and he gave us the skills to keep them learning new behaviors. I was very happy with the in-home training and how he fit it into our schedule. I looked at four different trainers before selecting Paul and am glad I chose him. If you need dog training then this is the place to get it.

I have nothing but great things to say about Good Buddy Dog Training. I’ve tried working with other trainers and they kinda made me feel like my dog was a lost cause. I started working with Paul and OMG can I see a difference in my pup. The instructions are simple to follow and Paul was really great to work with. I recommend Good Buddy Dog Training to any and everyone I know looking for a dog trainer.
Advanced Dog Training in Rio Rancho
Let’s take your dog’s skills into the wide-open world!

Why Progress to Advanced Dog Training?
When your dog has mastered all the basic skills and behaves well at home, it’s time to take it to the next level! People seek out advanced dog training when they want their dogs to behave out in public, whether that’s on the trails or at Home Depot. And they also choose advanced dog training to learn specialized tricks and leveled-up behaviors.
What Does Advanced Dog Training Involve?
Advanced dog training is an additional 8-week course that is highly customizable. At the end of our adult dog training course, we expect that a dog can complete each skill, every time, in a controlled environment. Advanced dog training takes away that controlled environment, making sure dogs can do all their behaviors in public as well.

How Does Advanced Dog Training Work?
While we are still happy to meet in your home, we can also meet in public places like parks and stores that allow dogs (think Home Depot or pet stores). When we get them outside of the controlled environment, we can work on getting your dog to respond how we want them to in any environment. We can also work on tricks beyond basic behaviors, skills that are more for fun, less for day-to-day well-being. As with all of our training, we only use positive reinforcement.
Frequently Asked Questions
At Good Buddy Dog Training, we only use positive-based training. We don’t believe in shock collars, prong collars, or other negative behavior correction. We want the training process to be fun for both the dog and its owner.
Only you can determine what is “worth it” or not. We can tell you that it’s only worth what the owner is willing to put into it. Our mission is to help build the bond between dogs and their owners through positive training methods, so owner involvement is crucial. And we can help bring peace to your home and the joy of having a pet that maybe wasn’t there before.
As a Rio Rancho dog trainer, we work with people and their dogs in their homes to teach them the basic skills every dog should know. For each customer, we take our basic skills list and add or take away from that list, based on the customer’s desires. It truly is a customizable experience. We also offer Advanced Dog Training for those pups who have mastered their basic skills.
Yes! We perform all of our dog training in the customer’s home, except for Advanced Dog Training, where we may choose to take the lessons out into the world. We believe dogs and their owners do their best learning in an environment where they are comfortable.
