Solutions for Dog Obedience Issues

Is your dog digging, barking excessively, or jumping on guests? We understand how overwhelming it can be! Our personalized in-home training in Corrales provides effective solutions to common behavior issues. With gentle, positive techniques, our trainers work directly in your home to ensure your dog is learning in a familiar, low-stress environment—helping create a better-behaved dog and a happier household.

Why Some Dog Training Methods Can Backfire

Using the wrong training techniques can do more harm than good. Methods like punishment-based or dominance training can lead to fear, anxiety, and even aggressive behaviors in your dog. This not only worsens the issues but also breaks the bond of trust between you and your pup, making training a stressful experience for both of you. At Good Buddy Dog Training, we focus on positive reinforcement, using gentle methods to encourage good behavior and build a strong, trusting relationship. Our goal is to help your dog feel safe, confident, and ready to learn in a supportive environment.

The Benefits of Positive Reinforcement for Lasting Results

Positive reinforcement is the key to creating a happy and well-behaved dog. By rewarding good behavior instead of using punishment or fear-based methods, dogs learn faster and feel more relaxed during training. This approach strengthens the bond between you and your dog, making training a fun and rewarding experience for both of you. Want to see the impact of positive training firsthand? About Good Buddy Dog Training

Gary M

Very good dog training. The dogs have progressed quite far and he gave us the skills to keep them learning new behaviors. I was very happy with the in-home training and how he fit it into our schedule. I looked at four different trainers before selecting Paul and am glad I chose him. If you need dog training then this is the place to get it.

I have nothing but great things to say about Good Buddy Dog Training. I’ve tried working with other trainers and they kinda made me feel like my dog was a lost cause. I started working with Paul and OMG can I see a difference in my pup. The instructions are simple to follow and Paul was really great to work with. I recommend Good Buddy Dog Training to any and everyone I know looking for a dog trainer.

How it Works

FAQs for Private Dog Training in Corrales

What is the cost of private dog training?

Our pricing varies based on your dog’s needs and the goals set during the initial assessment. Most clients complete their training goals in our six-week program, priced at $850. For more complex behaviors, additional sessions may be required, which we’ll discuss during your evaluation.

What’s included in the training package?

By the end of our Good Buddy Dog Training Program, your dog will have mastered essential commands like Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Place, and Loose Leash Walking. We’ll also address common behavior concerns such as jumping, door charging, and digging. If more serious reactivity is present, we may recommend extending the program for another two weeks.

Why isn’t the evaluation free?

The evaluation is a crucial step in creating a training plan tailored to your dog. It allows our trainers to assess behavior and determine the best approach. Since our trainers set aside this time, the fee covers their expertise even if cancellations occur. If you proceed with the program, the evaluation fee is applied to your total cost.

How long is the training program?

Our standard private dog training program spans six weeks. During this time, we’ll guide you and your dog through various obedience exercises and behavior modifications to achieve lasting results. For complex cases, we might suggest adding a few extra weeks.

How long is each session?

Each session lasts about one hour, where our trainer will demonstrate techniques, work directly with your dog, and show you how to reinforce commands throughout the week.

What if I need to skip a session?

We understand things come up! If you need to miss a week, just let us know as soon as possible. We’ll happily reschedule your session to ensure your dog stays on track.
