Our mission at Good Buddy is to help build the bond between dogs and their owners through positive training methods. We teach dogs to accomplish new behaviors and humans to bring out the best in their furry friends.

Puppy Training in

Rio Rancho

It’s never too soon to start training your new puppy. Owners and puppies that train together have a stronger bond and more fun interacting with others. Puppy training is an eight-week, in-home training program for puppies between the ages of 10-20 weeks old. Puppy training includes basic skills training like house training, curbing nipping, biting, and chewing, getting ready to go on a walk, and more.

Adult Dog Training in

Rio Rancho

From five months on, a dog is a great candidate for adult dog training. This eight-week, in-home program consists of ten skills every dog should know, plus any individual issues your dog may have. We also teach owners how to be better leaders, communicators, and motivators for their dogs.

Advanced Dog Training in Rio Rancho

Your dog has mastered the basic skills, so what now? Advanced dog training is highly customized to meet your needs. It includes training sessions in public spaces (like parks, trails, and stores that allow dogs). And, it can involve trick training or any other specific skills you’d like to focus on.

About Good Buddy Dog Training and Owner, Paul Falardeau CPDT-KA

When Paul began fostering dogs in 2014, it became clear that dogs responded well to him, and he loved working with them. Paul learned under a dog training expert and turned his passion into his full-time gig, becoming a Certified Dog Training Instructor. Paul believes dogs are important members of our families and deserve the best private training, care, housing, and nutrition. And Good Buddy only uses positive dog training methods.

What Our Customers Are Saying

We rescued our lab, pit, boxer mix last November. Oreo is a very rambunctious and full of energy 70lb.18 month old. Paul had his work cut out for him. His never ending patience and determination was incredible. After a few weeks, she was attentive and could obey commands. When he would run into a hurtle with Oreo he always had something new to try that worked. We are so pleased to have him as a trainer for life and know that we got the best care with positive reinforcement and one on one home visits. We would highly recommend Good Buddy Dog Training to anyone.

My experience with Paul from Good Buddy Dog Training in Rio Rancho has been exceptional. Before working with Paul, my french bulldog puppy, Zuna, had terrible manners and pulled like crazy on all our our walks. The private in-home lessons were great for her because she's easily distracted by other dogs. After working with Paul for 8 weeks she's an entirely different dog. She's more responsive, more calm, and doesn't pull while we walk. Thank you Paul! I'll definitely recommend your dog training services to my friends and colleagues who need your help!

Frequently Asked Questions

What do dog trainers do?

As a Rio Rancho dog trainer, we work with people and their dogs in their homes to teach them the basic skills every dog should know. For each customer, we take our basic skills list and add or take away from that list, based on the customer’s desires. It truly is a customizable experience. We also offer Advanced Dog Training for those pups who have mastered their basic skills.

Is paying a professional dog trainer really worth it?

Only you can determine what is “worth it” or not. We can tell you that it’s only worth what the owner is willing to put into it. Our mission is to help build the bond between dogs and their owners through positive training methods, so owner involvement is crucial. And we can help bring peace to your home and the joy of having a pet that maybe wasn’t there before.

What are people saying about pet training in Rio Rancho?

We’re proud to say we have 50+ 5-star reviews on Google, and that’s because we care very much about making sure people have an excellent experience with their training. While there are other people out there you can hire for dog training in the area, we hope our track record speaks for itself.

What training methods do you use?

At Good Buddy Dog Training, we only use positive-based training. We don’t believe in shock collars, prong collars, or other negative behavior correction. We want the training process to be fun for both the dog and its owner.

Do you have any guarantees?

Because the program outcomes are truly based on the relationship with the owner and the dog, I can’t make any guarantees. I give you all the tools you need to be successful, and it’s up to you to reinforce with practice outside of our times together. I also have great success with almost every dog, but I am not a behaviorist. So, if your dog exhibits aggressive behavior, it’s possible that I would refer you to another specialist.

We Love Rio Rancho

Good Buddy Dog Training calls Rio Rancho, NM home, and we love it here! It’s nice to be close to all that is Albuquerque, but a little more space. Of course, Rio Rancho is just north of Petroglyph National Monument, a fascinating preserve of writings and drawings of ancient peoples. It’s also close to a number of wineries, including Aquecia Vineyards and Winery and Casa Rondena Winery. Another thing to love about Rio Rancho is the connection to the Indigenous past and present of the area. The Coronado Historic Site is one location where you can visit the ruins of Kuaua Pueblo. There’s so much history and culture to love and proximity to Albuquerque too.
